1. how do I know if my webcam is working?
- Cruise to http://www.woome.com/flashtest/ in your favourite browser
- Follow the instructions (it’s a pretty fun way to test your webcam)
- You should be able to see a moving picture of yourself
Also, during sessions you will see yourself in the bottom left hand corner of the window in the centre of your browser. If the moving image isn’t there it means that your webcam isn’t working properly.
2. I can't see the person opposite me in a session
Unfortunately there isn’t much you can do. Do tell them to check out http://www.woome.com/flashtest/ and check their settings...
3. the person opposite me in a session can’t see me
- Make sure you see yourself on the bottom left corner of the video screen. If you do, great. There's nothing wrong on your end. The problem is most likely due to a connection error.
- Room lighting problem. Some webcams aren't great at picking up the picture under low light condition. Make sure you're in a well-lit room so that others can see your pretty face.
- Make sure you don't have any other applications open that might be using the webcam (MSN messenger, Skype, AIM, Yahoo Messenger) Only one program can access your webcam at a time.
